Any Ideas?

Afternoon!

Just had my lastest PCR result from the doc - it's still stuck at 2.9%. The past 3 have all been relatively the same (since last Sept). The latest test was taken 1 month after commencing 800mg from 600mg Gleevec...I understand that this time maybe too short to really know the effects but I imagined there'd be a sign that it's dropping...

Does anyone have any ideas on this? How long should 800mg Gleevec take to see any positive signs? As I can't get on Nilotinib, would Desatinib be an option?

Hope you can help.

Cheers, MJS

Hi Matt,

Sorry to hear your results aren't improved. I can't really help, just wanted to wish you the best for your next results and hope you see some improvements soon.

I've just been blessed with a nasty chest and throat infection that's taking a little while to shift so the runnings on hold again for a few days!

Take care mate,
Martyn

Hi Matt,

I am sorry to hear the first month with the increased dosage did not bring about any reduction. You must be disappointed. I hope that maybe a couple of months may bring some change about.
I am guessing that if the increased dose does not help then this would make you more eligable for either AMN or BMS.........not much consolation thou'.

wishing you all the best
Susan

Don't really know, but it took Ted about 15 months of 800mg to reduce from about 0.4 (at which he stuck for about 3 years on 400mg) to 0.1....
Hopefully it's gone down a bit more now, but will get the results (we hope!)on our next visit.
Hope this helps.

fantastic news, Matt.

You must be so excited, it is lovely to hear good news and the CML treatment will work out...........

Keep positive

Susan

Hi Susan,

Thanks for the Congrats!! Yep, I'm pretty stoked about our baby news...the wee one is due this September!

I think that's why I'm trying harder than ever to get answers about my treatment and making sure I'm getting the right meds, doses, etc... It'll also make me twice as determined and positive to get through this rollercoaster ride.

Thanks again, MJS :)
