This years UK National Patient Seminar will take place in Edinburgh on Sat 24th November,2007. Prof Tessa Holyoake will be organizing it.
I understand that the place and date was a compromise and although not everyone living in the rest of the UK will find it easy to travel to Edinburgh, we should remember that Scottish patients have had this problem for all five previous meetings.
This will also give us a flavour of the SMC controlled NHS in Scotland, which has consistantly been more forward looking than the regions controlled by NICE!
It seems to be easier for patients to get access to other drugs if they fail Glivec- unlike in some PCT's here in England.
