Liver Function Test

Hello everyone,

I live in Perth Western Australia and have bee Dx since Dec 06. Since then all my FBCs have been normal, Im curretly awaiting the results of my first PCR test.(fingers crossed)
But there is one thing that concerns me with one part of my Liver Function Test the (Alkaline Phosphatase) ALP has been consistently high. Has anyone esle come across this?

It is the only thing that concerns me as all my other results are fantastic so far, my Dr is running a new test to try to find the cause and he dosnt seem to concerned. Id really like to hear if anybody else has had this experience.

Kindest Regards

Ivan

Hi,

I had a quick chat with my Onc/Hemo today and asked them about liver functions in relation to Glivec use. She said that sometime these will go up and normalise themselves. Gleevec works primarily via the liver from what I gathered but some of the other drugs actually get "washed out" via the feces. So sometimes they change people on to different drugs. I know this is not much info for you but hope it helps good luck and do post back with whatever your doctor finds out..

God Bless
Bill
