New Baby Girl

Afternoon!

I haven't posted for a while but thought I would share my new baby news! I've been getting treated with both Gleevec and Sprycel since Oct 2005 - I thought the only way to conceive would be with IVF, as I had been told a few times. At the beginning of this year I read that if it's the male taking Gleevec, it would be fine to "proceed without caution" and that there are no risks.... 9 months later, I have a gorgeous and very healthy baby girl. Good news for any guys out there getting treated for CML that are keen to start a family!

Hopefully I get to bring her to the CML conference in sunny Edinburgh next month.

Great news! We have been trying for baby #2 for about two and a half years now and all this time Gary has been on Glivec. We have been told that this shouldn't affect his fertility and you are proof of that. Congratulations, parenthood is truly wonderful. RACHEL

Wonderful news Matt. Looking forward to meeting the family in Edinburgh. I have also become a grandma second time round on 6th September with Harry.
