New to Forum

Hi,
I am new to this forum, but I did have an old site where I enjoyed reading Sandy's journey for many years and the various other posts.
I reside in North Carolina in the USA , and I was diagnosed in 1998 while in my late 50's regarding age. Tried just about everything including Interferon which left me with neuropathy in both feet and legs. Finally admitted to Johns Hopkins Hospitals in Baltimore for Gleevec drug trials in 2000. Lots of side effects, but Gleevec continues to work for me.
I even had prostate cancer a few years ago which was dispatched with a radium treatment. I had six different doctors at different locations conferring on the best treatment for the prostate cancer to avoid having any impact on the CML which was being contained with Gleevec. My PSA for the prostate is now zero.

Life is good, and we are proving that you can live with cancer thanks to Gleevec and some of the newer drugs that are now available.
Best wishes to everyone. Ken

Hello Ken,
good to hear from you and good to hear that you continue to do well on Glivec. having two cancers to deal with seems a little unfair to say the least! but the news that your PSA levels are now zero is fantastic.
welcome to our 'new' (ish) forum.

best wishes,
sandy ;o)

Thanks for your response, and appreciated Sandy's response also. Since I have the "new" site, I will be checking it often.
