Leg swelling
hi,
it is difficult to advise you as any sort of swelling which cannot be easily explained should really be investigated by a doctor. i am sure your son-in-laws doctor would be willing to talk to him about what he considers to be the cause and why he has prescribed steroids to treat it.... if the doctor is not willing then it would be best to ask for a second opinion.
i have often suffered with a painful and swollen knee and have found that it responds to pilates stretching excercises if i do them regularly. this is because i have a back injury and misalignment which affects my knee joint. building up the core muscle strength through pilates or yoga can help a great deal.
however i would recommend that your son-in-law talks to his doctor about the causes of the swelling etc. and whether it is really advisable to resort to steroids at this stage.
best wishes,
Sandy
Hi,
I also suffered from a swollen lower leg, ankle and foot. Its funny how it only happened with one leg, never had the problem with other leg. The problem first started when I was put on Glivec 2 1/2 years ago. My lower leg also ached quite a lot but that also has settled down over time. With me I think it is a reaction from the Glivec as I never had this problem before I was dx in 2005. I am on 400mg daily. I hope yours settles down also
