Been to HH today and asked about low HGB counts and alcohol, there doesn’t seem to be any problem of it having a greater effect on low counts, as it’s about the volume of blood not the different counts that matter. Also how it’s secreted into the blood stream. It may have an effect if you have just donated blood, no chance in our case.!! Sorry, but I can’t explain it any better, although it seemed perfectly clear at the time
Apparently it’s a good lunch time conversation piece as never really thought of it before, and will probably let me know a bit more when I go back in 8 weeks. It’s no good being too technical, I wouldn’t understand it.

Re alcohol levels.
I am having a collection of my stem cells next month,and are to be given G.C.S.F. injections for five days prior to this. Does any one who has experienced this know if I continue to take Glivec during this time, or do I come off it, thanks,
