For Fiona - Pregnency

Hi Fiona

I am amanda and 2.5 yrs ago i had my little baby boy Rhys.

I was DX nearly six years ago and came off my gilvec for three months before trying for a baby all went well.

I think your consultant will decided the best way for you should you wish to have a family and in the safest way for you.

My situation was that my PCR was good and therefore now was the best time, however i don't think it would be now with it slowly increasing. Each person is different i wanted my own child but i didn't take the decision lighty and accepted the fact if the worst situation rose then that was my choice.

I am sorry that all of a sudden you world has turn up side time but it wil be ok and i hope you do have a family.

should you want to contact me, my email address is amanda.evans@coleggwent.ac.uk or i'll check on here.

take care
amanda

thanks amanda, thats really encouraging. I went to my consultant today and had a good discussion and i am doing really well, we have decided to put me up to 800mg a day and have a break in April so atleast i now have a goal and something ot look forward to. Alittle worried about how i will cope with the new dose but have been great on 400 so hopefully it will be ok. I would like to know how others have found 800mg of glivec and if they have any pointers. Feel much better about things and can atleast look into the future now

Thanks again Fiona

With your levels rising - does that mean you think that you are becoming resistant to glivec after 6 years.
