Hi to all congratulations to Sandy on your 10 year anniversary,I am coming to 9 years in January 2009. Several months ago I asked if there was anyone with cml that lived in the Leeds,Bradford,Halifax,Dewsbury,Pudsey,or anywhere in the Yorkshire region that would be interested in joining a cml support group simliar to the support group that is run at Hammersmith where we and or our carers could all meet up a few times a year and support each other. It is something that could benefit us as we have now got the Support of the Haematology Nurses and the Support and backing of Dr Graham Smith. I attended a meeting in November at Bradford Royal Infirmary with Helen Johnson and Alison Chatten who are both haematology nurses one based at BRI and the other based at ST James. The next meeting I am attending is on December 17th and hopefully the 2 nurses will come back with a list of interested people or might even encourage some cmlers to attend. 10 years
It gives me confidence - I am only two years from DX
and boy have heaps happened in that time.
I live in a rural area of Australia - and there is absolutely no-one with CML within my own regional area.
So registering on this board and others has been alife-line to myself.
Sandy - I would like to thank you for your information and advise - it has been given with great generousity.
Everyone's advise and support has been very much appreciated.
So 10 years on - just fantastic for you and your family
