Great results (I think!)

Hi to All
I haven't posted anything for ages but I have been reading all your topics and have really enjoyed the discussions and reading some great test results. I have just received my latest PCR results and wanted to share them with people that understand their significance. I was diagnosed in Dec 08 at 58.86%, fell to 1.45% in April after commencing Glivec in mid January. I had a BM in July but the PCR test failed in the lab so I had to wait another month for new results. The blood was taken on August 14 so that would be 7 mths after treatment and the PCR is now 0.09% My haemotologist was very pleased so I guess this is a great result!
I'm feeling great although don't particularly enjoy some of the side effects of Glivec BUT...... It's great to be well and knowing that it is working. Best wishes to all.
Jeanette

Dear Jeanette,
This is such a good result and well in line with the current expectations for a good response.
Side effects do diminish with time for most people and I hope you are not suffering too much. However, it must help to know that you have responded so well to imatinib and I am sure you can look forward to seeing some additional noughts in your next pcr results.

Best wishes,
Sandy
