Dear Sandy, David, Pennie, Phil and Val (and everyone else who may read this). It did my old heart good to hear from you and many thanks for that.
I was at Nottingham City Hospital yesterday for my three monthly check and saw Dr. Jenny Byrne who told me that she is the main organiser of the Annual CML Conference this year in Nottingham and that she is worried that not many people will turn up. I tried to reassure her that in the past the support has always been magnificent. She is a kind and efficient woman who always looks as if she has come off the cat walk - you know - models!
Pennie = the reason I knew about Tasigna and antibiotics was that when I had C.Diff my Specialist told me about a few of these matters for my future safety. I am to see the Specialist again about my gall bladder which is bothering me lots and one of the problems with the op is that I cannot take antibiotics normally now because of the C.Diff. I am glad to see you have lost the Glivec podge which I had too - but C. Diff took care of that and I lost three stone in a month and have never put it all back. There is also a very good article on this site about July 6th which tells you about Tasigna and antibiotics. You must have just missed that one. Anyway looking forward to meeting up with you in Nottingham Pennie.
Phil and Val = The OU days seem like another world now as so much has happened to me. However, I remember them fondly. I look forward to meeting you at Nottingham so we will have to devise a way of finding each other for certain. I remember how worried you were about Val and now here you are well down the line.
Sandy and David = Am REALLY looking forward to meeting you in Nottingham. I fully intend to keep writing on the forum again - if life gets easier for me! Even last week someone stole my wallet which almost contained my life. Do you remember the days when we used to meet in London - then as now you had CML folk at the forefront of your thinking. I haven't done any leuky collections at my beloved Sainsbury's store for a couple of years now - lots of people have apparently asked where the lady with the big orange bucket went too!
Thank you Sandy for the words of support about my grand daughter and annorexia also Judy thanks you for the advice about Tasigna and will do what you suggest.
With love and best wishes to everyone, Pat.
