My husband was diagnosed with CML IN 2002 and was treated first line with Glivec, he responded very well and his PCR's are all zeros and have stayed that way for this long.(600mg daily), he is well , runs , mountain bikes and works full time .
I posted on this site at this time and was kindly given a lot of support from others in those very anxious days.
When the format of the site changed I had difficulty in posting but have always looked at the forum to keep up to speed with new developments. Since having a new computer I have registered, hence todays post.
Hope our successful treatment tale will give others more recently diagnosed some encouragement and hope.
I have sent off the application for the CML ,ducation day in Nottingham but have not received any confirmation of a place as yet.(should I expect to?)
We are local to Nottingham so would very much like to attend. Brian is treated in Derby (we were managed initially at both Derby and Nottingham ,) our PCR testing is done at Hammersmith London.
would be interested to know if we await confirmation for the CML carer education day , or just turn up .Thanks
Pat Manning
You are here
new to the site
Hello Pat...... good to hear you are able to access the site again and that Brian is still doing so well.
I am not able to tell you if you should have heard from Nottingham with a confirmation..but I suggest that you (or anyone else who is worried) calls the haematology nurse on the contact number she gave.
The number is posted along with the other details of the Seminar on this site.
Hope this is helpful,
Sandy
