I would like to share my good news with the forum, Des and those who follow this thread.
I received the results of my last PCR today and the results are fantastic.
BCR-ABL 9-22 Qualitative NOT DETECTED!!!
Two months prior (August) I returned a positive result although the BCR-ABL was 0.00083%.
This translated to a BCR/ABL:ABL Ratio of <0.00001% - but detectable.
This time around the BCR-ABL was 0.00013%.
The BCR/ABL:ABL Ratio of 0.00000.
As these results are from the same lab,I can only presume that the positive result in August was borderline as the test is very accurate and detailed.
Living without the side effects of Gleevec is great. No more eye bleeds, hair loss, swollen eyelids, etc, etc.
But I am a realist and know that sooner or later I may again call on the assistance of my trusted friend, Gleevec, to go into battle against arch enemy CML.
