A petition is certainly worthwhile, and it is something that CML support might do, but wording needs to be carefully thought out and measured.
To be really effective in this kind of situation we believe (from experience) that we really do need to have a coordinated approach. Please contact me when you have decided on the wording of your petition so we can advise.
I will be working on our official comments over the coming days and weeks (we have until Dec. 7th)
Meanwhile MP's should be targeted. I will be seeing my own MP at her weekly surgery asap. If you cannot get to an MP's surgery -the majority do have them if not weekly then certainly monthly- then write a letter.
We will be thinking carefully of the questions that could be made to the ministers by MP's.
I am not confident that you would get any kind of sympathetic hearing at the NICE conference. NICE have a process for comments from the public and you should follow the process. Otherwise they will just ignore you.
