You are here
NICE not getting good press which is nice...
There are also 2 good articles in both the Mail and the Sun today.
David Cameron I believe said that any Licensed drugs since 2005 will be given to drug patients if the Tories win
Another good reason to have a new Government.
Also Lets try and get rid of NICE I read that they have not agreed to any new cancer drugs since 2008. Nice is not very impartial only looking at the bottom of the balance sheet.
Give me a place on the board and will get this sorted.
Do you have a link to these claims, because if true, the Conservatives would get my vote for the first time ever.
I watched an interview with Cameron on Sky news this morning and while he broached the subject of providing cancer drugs to patients on Doctors advice, it was all a bit wishy washy and there was no mention of providing all Cancer drugs to those in need. It looked to me as though he was asking NICE to give more credence to the Doctors input.
Hi Dennis
Heres a link to a page in todays Mail on Sunday.
It was in yesterdays papers but can find them.
I sure its reported in all the sundays papers.
Anyway hope this changes your political views.

Ah dear Dennis and Steven I do so wish I was able to 'believe' any of the stuff that is put out as 'sound bites' during the political media game that seems to be the norm these days.
Only when I see facts, figures and action can I accept any of the so called promises.
To promise so much when the reality is so complex is just not believable for me, easy words just don't make policy a reality.

Pennie.
Well for the lsat 13 years you have seen what the Brown regime have done for us.
For a party which had a chancellor for 11 years turn Prime Minister he has not done so well for the UK or indeed the global situation as one might have thought.
Maybe if they taxed the bankers bonuses and gave it to the NHS for cancer treatment and indeed to our troops around the world, there would not be the problem we have today.
Let me get in there. I would sort them all out. Give me your vote.
As some will know I am not afraid of speaking my mind.

Whilst it is understandable that during the general election period some of us may feel the need to express our political views and preferences.. Please remember that others might not share the same views as you do and this forum is not the place for electioneering.
Thanks for considering others,
Sandy
Whilst the press is full of gossip and rumour mungering it seems only fair to point out the parties that seem to have the same goal as us and that is getting drugs for any type of health sufferer should be potential candidates for our vote.. That means that if David Cameron says he going to change the NI system so as to provide drugs to CANCER sufferes he gets my vote. That does not mean to say that I support the rest of his manifesto.Nor does it suggest that anyone else should vote for him. This is my feeling and whilst we still live in a democratic society I should still me allowed to speak my mind. If the the Lib Dems said the same thing then thery would get my vote. Gone are the days when once a conservative always a conservative. You have to vote for things close to your heart.
Gordon Brown on nemerous occasaions clearly does not want to get involved which is shown by the highly inadequate response to your No 10 petition. Any potential leader who wants to get his hands dirty and push aside any NICE decision such as Cameron gets my vote.
What else if not political is the reason to lobby our MP's to get a NICE decisions changed.
This is not electioneering but a view point to get the goals WE NEED AND THAT IS DRUGS FOR ALL!!
I certainly wasn't electioneering. It really is quite difficult to keep politics out of the Dasatinib and Nilotinib debate, considering that over the past few months some of us have been lobbying our MP's about the subject, some of us have given our views on the NICE website and there have also been petitions forwarded to the government..
The positions of the parties regarding the provision of cancer drugs must be of interest to all of us on here? For me, and as I said earlier, if one party says they will provide either of the two drugs to CML patients, then I would give them my vote as a one-off.
Having said that, if I have offended anyone, then I genuinely apologise for that.
Dennis.
