New website design for our 10 year anniversary

It has been 10 years since CML Support Group first went online (April 2000). There have been a couple of design changes over the years and we felt we were due another one. Our new site will go live at some point over the next 24 hours. There may be some teething troubles but we are hopeful that the changeover will be a smooth one.

Best wishes,
Sandy

Thank you Sandy

You dedication and unending support for this group is an inspiration
Wishing all the Members a great and healthy Easter Weekend

I can only echo those thanks. It is now nearly six years since my wife was diagnosed and this site has been a great support and comfort. I have only put comments on occasionally but I frequently visit the site. My wife is happy for me to get into the detail and prefers to carry on living life and enjoying her family but we are both greatly supported by you and this site.

Simon

Hi Sandy,

What a great job updating this site!  Kudos to the designers and all those who supported  this effort.

Thank you Sandy for your efforts. It helps not to feel alone,

even if we are at the end of the world.

Cheers,

Some added suggestions!

I miss the fact that I can no longer access the forums that I have voiced myself on - rather I now have to trawl through all

the entries. I liked the personal slot where i could tune into and keep track.

Do we need all the fancy editing and formatting options like an email page?

I will certainly not use them and when I did try to put in a smiley face, it took ages to access the data.

I also found it clearer to access new info as we used to have running down the right side.

And it used to change colour once I had read it, which was very helpful.

CAn't thank you enough for making this sharing possible and bring the cml community together!

Love and continued good health to you - Beth

Dear Beth,

thanks for your comments... I will certainly add them to the list and keep them in mind when we do an overview of the new site and the tweaks it needs.

I am not too clear on what you mean by your first point: access to the forums that you have voiced (commented?) on. Do you mean the postings on this page? I think it was always the case that you had to trawl through the entries or am I misunderstanding your point?

the reply/comment box is really just the standard format of 'open source' software that has been used to build this site. So just ignore it all if you don't want to use them. Personally I have not had a problem with using the spell check of additional options but it depends on your system I suppose. sorry I cannot change that.

As you might realise we need to keep costs to a minimum as we get very little funding.

I am aware that the newswire being on the same page would have been more accessible but now it is on the home page I am not sure that it is such a chore to find it? The site is now a 2 column rather than a 3 column so it would take a lot of work to reinstate another column just to that.

The colour change for posts you had read is probably re-doable... I will liaise with Roger about that.

Thanks again for your input... it is really valuable and I appreciate the feedback. I am sure we will eventually solve all the individual problems, it just needs time.

Best wishes,

Sandy
