teething problems with the new Forum

Dear all.... thanks so much for your 'moans' and whinges'... which I do not think they are ;o))) Your comments are very helpful and are taken as essential feedback. I too have problems with the text size/american date format etc etc. and have asked Roger- our technical expert and site builder- to work on this. It might take him a week or so to iron it all out until we are all happy with the new look and ease of working. Please keep the feedback coming because it is better for him to try to deal with it all at once than piece by piece.

We expected this would not be any easy changeover but I feel it will be worth it in the end. We need to keep technically updated and at least now we will not lose newcomers in the 'sea of spam' that I was having to deal with... which meant that it was inevitable  that new genuine registrations would be lost. This was one of my biggest headaches and meant I had to spend quite a lot of my time making impossible decisions about whether someone was genuine a patient/care-giver or just someone who was trying to sell something.

Have faith.. we will get there in the end.... but keep your feedback coming in

Sandy

HI Sandy

I think it will all be great when the few odd glitches are ironed out - I don't think it will alienate people (unlike the Macmillan changes which were and are a nightmare) and the new front page etc is great when you first come onto the site.

Thanks for all your work

I like the look and layout of the new site, but have a small problem when reading the comments - the text flows too far to the right and I have to keep scrolling backwards and forwards along the bottom bar.  Not a major hassle, but if you are making adjustments, and if others have noticed this, it might be possible to improve it.

Otherwise, please keep up the good work, it's a wonderful resource and has helped me more than I can say.

New site is great but I must agree with Olivia, I don't like scrolling from left to right all the time

Hi Sandy,

Thanks for explaining why the new site was necessary.I don't have any problems with having to scroll to the right, but I am getting confused as to which postings I've read and do favour the old one for being able to see very easily if I had already read something. Like all web changes, it takes a while to get my head around it! Also, if the font could be a touch larger, it would be helpful as even my reading glasses are struggling!

Thank you for listening!

Vickie

Thanks for the explanation Sandy. It's beginning to look more familiar now, which is half the battle, but it will be even better if the techy guy can sort the little niggles out. Thank you for all you do!
