PCR sensitivity at the Hammersmith

Hi
My PCR results over an extended period have been PCRU, the latest couple of results have "jumped" by a very small amount.
I have been advised by my local consultant that the Hammersmith have recently improved the sensitivity of their PCR test. Can anyone confirm this or have recently experienced minor glitches ?
Regards to all,
Maureen

to know when the recent "non negative" results were? The last one of mine I have seen (April - which was 0.000 - I had another in June which I believe was also "zero" but I have not seen the actual number) suggested a slightly better sensitivity than previous ones (from Nov 09) - but no one has said anything to me about this (though they did indicate last time I was there that much more sensitive tests may be in the pipeline).

Hi Richard,

Thanks for your comments.

With the exception of a couple of 0,002 results I've been 0.000 since June 2008. I've recently reduced my imatinib from 600 to 500 per day. June 2010 result was 0.012 followed by a further check "just in case!" which was 0.004.

My query was only as a follow-up to my local consultant's statement, I'll try to find out during my next visit to Hammersmith in September.

Best wishes,

Maureen
