You are here

9/9/09 and now a year on

Hi everyone

I can't believe it' s been a year from dx - Im feeling great although have a bone marrow biopsy to look forward to on Monday  my BCR-ABL_ABL ratio has fallen to 0.010 at my last appointment.

A year ago today i sat on the hospital bed with uncontrollable tears running down my face - they were tears brought on because all I could think of was my poor children and that I may only have a couple of years to live and they would not have a mummy.

A year on today I am feeling very positive about the future.

Thank you

Hi Jacqui,

Just wanted to say congratulations and that these milestones are essential in taking stock of the past and looking forward to the future.

My 1 year anniversary comes up next week, and despite not being given to self-congratulatory displays, I have to say that I am mostly really proud of myself in getting through the hardest year of my life so far.

I hope you do something nice to mark the occasion with your loved ones. Here's to many more anniversaries to come!!

Best-

Adam xx

Dear Jacqui ... you really do need to celebrate such a spectacular molecular response - to reach 0.010% bcr/abl in less than 12 months is every reason to be positive about the future.

Very best wishes,

Sandy

Dear Adam.... be proud - please don't be too reticent about self-congratulatory displays. It helps others have hope in their own futures if we share our stories here.

Please 'shout out' when your 12 month anniversary comes up next week.

Best wishes,

Sandy

Jacqui

Thats so amazing. I was dx two months later and have just had my latest PCR which shows I rise to 90% - almost where I started 10 months ago. Have had very severe aneamia with 6pts blood transfused in the last two days...

strange how we are all different. I am so pleased you have done so well. I too am having another BMA on Monday so will be thinking of you.

HAve you been doing anything special diet wise, healing, acupuncture in the last year?

Love Beth
