Chlorine in swimming poola

Hi everyone

Just reached my one year anniversary from dx and had a (very painful) BMB on Wednesday - still feeling the effects. Thank goodness a friend told me to ask for Entonox this year as this worked to an extent.

Did anyone else see the short article in Sunday Times of Sept 19th ( Travel section, Page 2) in which it appears that the Centre of Research for Environmental Epidemiology in Barcelona have found a link between chlorine in swimming pools and permament mutation of DNA in swimmers which could lead to cancer ? As someone who swims regularly to keep fit, I asked my doctor on Wednesday, but the answer was to carry on swimming and that we are surrounded by "triggers" in our everyday lives. Also that CML is random and not caused by lifestyle as are some of the other cancers.

Do any of you scientific people out there know anything about this chlorine risk?

best wishes Chrissie
