Hi,
I have recently started getting blood blisters in my mouth quite regular, especially after eating. Does anyone else get these as a side effect of Glivec and what do you use for it?
I've been diagnosed just over 3 mnths and been on Glivec for most of that time and it's not anything I've suffered from before just in the last couple of weeks. Just wondered if it was a common complaint.

Yes. This happened soon after I started Glivec and continues. I have been on Glivec for 5 years and try not to eat crispy food, as I believe that this causes the problem. I was originally prescribed Acyclovir, I am not sure that was the right treatment though. I rinse with salt water these days.
I have been taking Glivec for 5 years and still suffer with blood blisters, particularly if I eat crispy food. This started a couple of months after taking Glivec. I was prescribed Acyclovir, although I am not sure that it was the right product. I now just rinse with salt water and suffer with a sore mouth for a week.. The consultant and I decided that it was the least of my worries! It is an uncomfortable inconvenience however!
