Guardian publishes interesting article on Cancer.

Interesting article about 'Cancer' in the Guardian..... describing a diagnosis of ALL in an adult and the consequent therapy. It also mentions CML and how  'Glivec' changes its prognosis for the majority of those diagnosed, but it has an interesting take on how we might think about 'cancer' i.e that it is part of the human condition.

I do take some issue with the closing remarks of this quite long snip from a book written by an oncologist/haematologist because I am more optimistic about the ongoing success of cancer cell research and how cancer 'therapy' is changing as we understand how the immune response can be harnessed to deal with abnormalities in a particular cell line............ but I think it is a timely book and will be reading it. It is called:
