Additional abnormalities on chromosome 3 any one else got this?

Hi,

I was told today by my hematologist, just in passing as I was asking about various test results, that as well as the usual problems with chromosome 9 and 22 I also have an additional abnormality with chromosome 3 which is apparently related to the cml but she doesn't know why or what problems it might cause.

I have found this information on it;

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/7066881

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/6955003

But don't really understand it.

Does anyone have any experience of this or can explain these articles in laymen terms.

Thanks in anticipation.

Jackie

 Hi Jackie

When I was dn in June 2008 I was told I also had a chromosome adnormality regarding 4;15 in the Philadelphia positive clone.

Nobody at Kings seemed to know what it meant, 3 years later it has never been discussed again. My BCR/ABL is 0.037% so it doesn't seem to be detrimental to my treatment.

Darren has a weird one with the 8th but no one seems too fussed by it, theyhave just said its a side effect of the drugs.
