Travel insurance - that old chestnut......

Just trying to renew my annual travel insurance.  We were with Age Concern (underwritten by Fortis) who used to cover the CML at no extra charge if you could answer sensible questions which basically meant stable condition and no changes in medication etc.  Now it seems that regular visits to the consultant (4 monthly in my case) constitute hospital appointments and anyone with leukaemia and hospital appointments will not be covered.

We need worldwide cover for an October trip and just wondering if anyone recently has managed to get cover for CML - these underwriting requirements seem to change all the time and I know there is a travel insurance page but just wondering if anyone has had recent success getting cover.

Thanks very much

They are a broker. Used them last year and they used Fortis. This year they are using CityBond through AXA.  £109 for Annual Family European no Winter Sports.

Their tel no is 01689859102.

Hope this helps

Ian

I have used them a couple of times - really good and fair prices: http://www.medicitravel.com/

Hi ,

I needed cover for a trip to Australia last November, after being diagnosed last August. I carried out some checks with various insurance companies and made some notes.

If you could let me have your email address  I'll send you a spreadsheet  (Excel)with a few options.................or can copy the info into the email, if thats better.

Cheers

Many thanks - would welcome any input that cuts down my legwork or phonework...

We visited Cairo and did a Nile cruise last year - very pleased we ticked that trip off the list before the current troubles! I was struggling to find a sensible quote but got good cover at a reasonable price from

I didn't find anyone willing to do annual cover, but for the single 2 week trip it was good.

Hi there

Last October my healthy husband and I got insurance online with Columbus for annual multi trips excluding USA and Canada. I declared CML but said I wasn't on chemo ( Is Glivec chemo? No one seemed to know at the time) but had 3 monthly hospital appointments. It cost us £84.85 in total which I thought was very reasonable. Of course, we haven't tested it out yet in that we haven't had a claim. And we are both aged 62 yrs,so not over 65 when premiums rocket.  Any help?

regards

Chrissie
