MPs' Parliamentary questions

Just had a meeting with my MP (Mel Stride, Central Devon) and he was very supportive and has agreed to raise a written PQ on our behalf. He now wants me to email him with what I want him to say (although I gave him Letter 1 from the templates with the specimen question).  Struggling with the wording here to try not to get over- emotive. Any ideas gratefully received!

Petition is looking good - over 4000 as I write.

best wishes

Chrissie

Hi  Chrissie,

sorry I missed your post. I would suggest you  just re-email you MP with the actual question as suggested in the letter. - that way it is very clear and he will not have to read too much background stuff.

Specimen Parliamentary question

Please ask the Secretary of State for Health what assessment his Department has made of the extent to which the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence has the capability to carry out appraisals for innovative inhibitor therapies for rare cancers, where the target population is very small.

Best wishes,

 Sandy

Thanks, Sandy. That is what I did + what about patient choice?. I also emailed my MP yesterday pointing him to Pages 10 and 19 of yesterday's Telegraph and had a reply that his office is working on the PQ and the Telegraph article+ letter would be helpful.

best wishes,

Chrissie
