Zavie

Dear All,
I know lots of you know Zavie and have welcomed his support and zero club membership over the past 10 years.
I have just heard that Zavie suffered a stroke a couple of weeks ago and is currently in hospital.
I understand that he is quite gravely ill. I am sure you all join me in sending Zavie and his wife Ida strength to overcome this terrible set back.

Zavie was one of the first to sign our petition and he left the following message for NICE appraisal committee:
"In my eyes what you have done is criminal.
I have been battling CML for 10 years and you are taking away the only option that these patients have to survive.
Shame on you."

Zavie has an indomitable personality and generosity of spirit. I have know him for over 11 years and during that time, in his own, sometimes very unconventional, style he has helped many people all over the world get access the right information to ensure they get better treatment for their CML.

I know you will join me in sending him love and support.

This is really sad news, he seems a real character and I hope he recovers quickly and fully.

Having met Zavie at one of the CML Conferences (?Edinburgh), he is a real battler against life's setbacks. My best wishes to both him and Ida in this latest health problem

Just to let you know that Zavie is responding to treatment and is improving every day. This is good news ;o)

What good news!

Zavie, when you get to read this, I want you to know how incredibly special and uplifting it was when you posted a few years back to give my wife a number in the Zero Club. She could not believe it at first that someone so far away from the UK had been so kind as to do that. Thank you for it and everything else you do for CMLers. Best wishes to you for a continuing recovery and to your wife from both me and my wife.

I am sure all who have somehow crossed paths with this remarkable man are praying for his speedy recovery. I sorely miss our regular Skype chats and his warm manner. Come on Zavie get well soon so we can all resume our relationship with you and Ida.
