7 Years today since DX

Its exactly 7 years to the day and time when I was telephoned by my GP to come to his surgery and to bring a bag as I was being admitted to hospital.

I asked why and he told me that I had to many white cells and that my blood was so thick that I needed to have fluids  immediatly to help me. I asked him if it was leukaemia, and he was gob smacked that I should have guessed my DX. The word leukaemia came fom nowhere. I had never thought of it before that moment.

7 years on and the rest is history.  Now on Nilotinib and a PCR of 0.008. Just waiting now for and extra zero. Hope it comes soon.

Steven

Hi Steven,

no matter whether you do achieve another zero, and I hope you do, you are in a good place 7 years on. How fortunate we live in a time of true innovation in the treatment of CML.

Congratulations on you present pcr status.... I suppose the irony of NICE publishing the FAD today of all days is not lost on you ;o)

Best wishes,

Sandy

Hi Steve,

isn't it funny how we remember exactly what happened on the day of dx word for word?

Am glad to hear you're still doing so well - what's a zero between friends?
