You are here

there's an app for that!!!

there's an app for the ipad, My CML Tracker, which is very informative and free to install. It comes from Novartis, so is easy to understand and credible. For those interested, its worth looking at.
Just to update everybody on my success .story, I was diagnosed in April 2003 and after reaching PCR undetectable after couple of years, I stayed on the Glivec until 2009. After much soul searching I came off the glivec to see how I would do and 2 years later I am still doing well and holding my own, drug free with barely detectable PCR. HH say I seem to be keeping the CML under control myself, they don't know why, or whether it will return. If it does, its back on the glivec for a while until its PCR undetectable again. I don't look that far ahead, life is good. So stay with it fellow CMLers, there's much more light at the end of the tunnel for us all than there was 10 years ago.
I don't post much nowadays, but this site was a lifesaver for me when I was diagnosed, well done Sandy.

Thanks for your post - I came off Glivec in may - just got 1st slight positive result back - 0 003.

Will get another PCR done before deciding what to do;  Basil from South Africa was the same as you - slight positives off Glivec for almost 2 years & then he became negative again - maybe i'll ask to wait a while before restarting Glivec if PCRs remain low.

Hi Des... wonderful to read your update. I am amazed that your CML is under control without drug therapy- presumably it is being controlled by your own immune system! This is the only explanation that Basil can come up with and I tend to agree with him. Nevertheless, it is good to know you are being monitered and should there be a rise in pcr values you can return to therapy until you see low zeros again.

Best wishes,

Sandy

What is the latest on your off TKI journey . Very curious :)
