Jackie

I am really sad to  have to post this news, but I have just heard that Jackie (see her post below) did not make it through her tranplant, even though dasatinib put her back into chronic phase

To say the least this is devastating for her family and friends, as it is for the wider CML community.

Sandy

This is such sad news for her family and an awful end to such a rollercoaster ride - if her family are reading this or her friends please know our thoughts are with you x

She was such a strong, and inspiring woman. My love and thoughts are with her family and children at this sad time. x

Our thoughts go out to all of JAckie's family, especially at this time of year. All of us on this web site are thinking of you. This is even worse as Jackie was so optimistic about being given a 'second chance'.

I just checked on Jackie's FB page to see how she was doing after transplant & couldn't believe it!  She was so positive, even after all the set backs she'd had!  My thoughts are with her family & friends at this awful time!  Such a brave & inspirational lady XX

I was very sad to hear about the sad loss of Jackie, may her memory be for a blessing and sending my condolences to her family.

Susan

Oh that is awful sad news. God bless Jackie and her family.

My husband Alastair had his transplant in May this year and was initially doing well but very very sadly he contracted pneumonia and was admitted to hospital on 14th November. Doctors were unable to save him and he died on 3rd December, 4 days from his 45th birthday.

My thoughts and prayers are with everyone this Christmas

Regards,
Moira

Such very sad news and especially tragic for her family at this time of year. My heart goes out to them. Jackie was such a brave lady.

Thanks for posting that Sandy- it's not the kind of news that anyone wants to pass on, let alone at this time of year...

I hope Jackie's family and friends can take solace in the fact that she fought so hard against this disease. I knew her only through this site and she always came across as so kind, so positive and so strong. She also always told us the truth about her disease, which again is such a special skill...

I imagine her as someone with a lot of love in her heart- I hope that we all get the chance to enjoy such a special thing in our lives and that this site continues to attract such brave and honest warriors...

My thoughts will be with her family over Christmas.
