I am a bit worried as i have been reading today about the Philadelphia chromosone, which i thought was unique to CML. I have read today on the McMillan site that sufferers of ALL (Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia) also have the Philadelphia chromosone. Does any one know how they decide which type of Leukemia you are suffering from at 1st diagnosis? I am having my first BCR-ABL test next week and been trying to learn what the figures mean and finding it all a bit difficult to understand to be honest! When i was first diagnosed 12 weeks ago it was by chance picked up on a blood test, as i had a very itchy and extensive skin rash on my scalp and body. Since reading about ALL i am beginning to wonder if i MIGHT have that and not CML,because of the rash which has never really got better. it is a bit worrying as ALL from what i have read today is more serious than CML. Also, i would be very interested to hear if anyone else has a rash with CML and how they treat it. I have seen a dermatologist, been given all sorts of creams and tablets etc but i still have it, my scalp is the worst area. Currently using steroid lotion (Betnovate) but its not helping much.
