Dumb Things People Say About CML

before I start, does anyone know of a good flooring contractor in oakland?

just kidding, i guess it's an automated thing, rather than someone maliciously posting in a forum. I will quite happily offer my services to assist Sandy in periods of absence as this is pretty annoying. Another CML forum had big problems for a while.

anyway, to lighten the mood has anyone had people ask really insensitive or stupid questions about CML? On diagnosis one of my colleagues (who is socially inept btw) was curious about the meds. He asked "if there was a nuclear war and the supply lines were disrupted and you couldn't get your meds, does that mean you would die?" I had to bite my tongue and simply replied "if that happened I think i'd have bigger concerns than getting to the pharmacy"

Anyone else care to share?

Chris

I too have had that question asked regarding what would happen in a nuclear holocaust.

Also I have been asked by a friend if I was allowed to go on fairground rides.

I think most people find it hard not to associate leukaemia (cml) with eventual certain death and I am constantly reminding people that I'm ok and I'm probably (hopefully) always will be ok (as long as the glivec factory does not get vapouraised in world war 3).

The lab in Canada which produces the BCG used to treat certain types of bladder cancer has had a fire. All patients receiving this treatment ( and I know of 3 personally) are being moved onto chemo + radiotherapies. This is awful, as with the BCG life goes on as near normal or so it seems.
