white cell 2.7

hi guys had my appointment yesterday and my count was down from 4.4 to 2 .7,is there any reason for concern,im still in mmr so good news there.my consultant'who's new to clinic' said he may have to reduce my dosage from 600 to 400 ,im on glivec.im sure ive been this low before.

Hi Kathy,
First congratulation on your stable MMR. Regarding white cells counts, it is my understanding that 2.7 is fine. As long as your neutrophils are at a decent level- i.e somewhere over 1. - then you do not have much to worry about. Maybe you should discuss this with your new doctor before agreeing to lower your dose- However, if you have been in MMR for a significant amount of time then maybe a dose reduction would be OK? .... at least your side effect profile might improve. How low is your Bcr/Abl %?
