Memorial: Professor John Goldman

CML patient advocates as well as patients will attend tomorrow's memorial for Prof. Goldman at the Wolfson Theatre, Royal College of Physicians, Regents Park, London. Many of you will know how important Prof. Goldman's work was to the CML global community which is reflected in the programme. Please find attached a copy of the programme, as well as a brief description of some of the presentations. Prof. Goldman was my doctor and supported me in my wish to enrol on the Phase ll trial of STi 571 (imatinib) in August 1999. I feel immensely grateful to have been given the opportunity to attend his memorial day and wanted to share with as many of you as possible the breadth of his achievements- as you can see from the programme, this is an important event and many well known clinicians and researchers have traveled to London from across the world to pay their respects to John Goldman - Leukaemia Pioneer.

It sounds like an amazing day to celebrate the life of an amazing man. We will all be thinking of him today.
