Slight increase in bar abl in MMR

Hi does anyone know if it’s normal to have a slight increase in BCR ABL when in MMR my results dropped from 0.37 (then started Nilotinib from Imatinib) to 0.02 to 0.01 to 0.004 and then rose to 0.01 should I be worried? I’m winding myself up thinking it shouldn’t be rising has anyone had a rise in MMR? We’re wanting a baby so it’s so important I stay in MMR!

Many thanks

Jade same thing here.  Just had a blood draw today.  I went to .0595% in a month and a half while taking just 300mg of bosulif and fully expected to me at MR4 a month ago.  Instead I was shocked it had went up to .084% since it went down so very quickly.  My onc said not to worry this is not unusual.  Sorry I am and will worry.  I was going to be put on a 6 month schedule for blood work instead I am having another PCR done a month since last one.  Like Jade, I too would like to know if anyone else has had this happen or hear anything and it be nothing?

Jade - Yes, we've all had such changes.  It could be a blip, but more probably, the 0.004 was the anomaly and you really are settling in around 0.01 for the time being.  That is a perfectly fine place to be, and remember, MMR is 0.1 (not 0.01) so you're safely below even that.

The lower our PCRs fall the more they bounce around (think of looking for needles in a haystack!). If there is an upward trend of more than 3 tests, then levels may be starting to rise - but not always. So long as you are within MMR ( 0.1% or lower) you are in a safe place.
