Need Help : Feeling cold all the time

Categories:

Hi All.,

Its been a week now, I am experiencing cold (sometimes chills) all the time.

I had my blood test done - everything looks fine(TLC, RBC etc). However, the cold still remains. Not sure whats going on to me.

I am on Tasigna - 800mg/day. I had my PCR end of June - and it was - 0.0065 - IS.

I'm bit worried. kindly share your thoughts

Hi there,

I am on Tasigna for 15 months not at MMR yet I defo feel the cold more than I used to. When you say chills do you mean you sometimes have the shakes?

Alex

Have chills sometimes. Feel cold most of the times

I have had chills pre diagnosis and also now still. It is most unpleasant however I believe it is just one of the symptoms of CML and can also continue on meds.I find it’s just something I’ve learnt to live with, and I do not think you need be overly concerned.Mention it to your Doctor next visit

Have your thyroid checked and verify TSH, T4, T3  levels (total and free) are normal.

TKI's can impact the thyroid especially during TKI withdrawal (treatment free remission). It did mine and I went through what you described (feeling cold all of the time). Monitor your body temperature. Chances are it's low (97 degrees .... or so). It should resolve on its own, but can take months.

Thyroid function is tricky. A good endocrinologist is needed to sort through the tests. Your remedy could be as simple as a thyroid hormone supplement to help you feel normal again or just wait it out.
