What does Dasatinib taste like?

Categories:

Hi All,

I was wondering if anyone using Dasatinib (Bristol-Myers Squibb) on this forum has tasted the medicine?

I got switched from Gleevac to dasatinib recently and I cant help but wonder why Dasatinib tastes like sugar pills (more precisely like the tiny sugar pills used in homeopathy treatment). Makes me wonder if I'm being given placebos.

I tried doing some research but I found articles regarding 'loss of taste'!

Let me know if anyone has tasted the tablets and your observations.

Hi there

I went the opposite way- changed from dasatinib to imatinib almost two years ago. From what I remember, the Sprycel tablets I had had very little taste... they were certainly not sweet unless I am very much mistaken. I definitely never had the impression that they were like sugar pills. Visually they were quite small, white and oval with BMS100 on one side and 852 on the other.

But this is over 2 years ago so let's see what others say as I might not be remembering correctly.

Good luck and I hope you get to the bottom of it!

Martin

Thankyou Martin. Appreciate the help.

I hope you get better soon! :)

I’ve never noticed any taste at all. Completely neutral.
