hello, has anyone come up with any way to reduce swelling of the eye lids and face - it is a reaction to 100 Disatnib.
Many thanks Mary

Swollen Eye lids
Categories:
Hi
This is quite a common condition and side effect of tki s and is referred to as eyelid edema or peri -orbital odema when it surrounds the tissues of both eyes and especially eyelids. There is a condition called blepharitis when the eyelids are swollen and also there might be some discharge as well.Eyelid hygiene is important and there is a saline solution blephasol (available off prescription) which is quite helpful to use to wipe each eye surround from centre outwards using some cotton wool.An alternative is warm but previously boiled water used on a cotton wool swob. Some use previously used hot or cold teabags which might help to reduce inflammation.
Staying very hydrated might help and also using alternate ice compress with a warm compress.Other forms of eyelid and eye irritation may develop such as conjuntivitis with or without eye bleeds and exceptionally raised intra occular pressure and inflammation of the optic nerve-in such cases regular opthalmic checks are advised.
I trust this helps
Best wishes
John
