So I have been battling night time anxiety, hot flashes, abdominal cramps and heart palpitations with imatinib (been on it 20 months with good results). Some things I am learning about management of side effects:
1) for a night time snack no milk except yogurt. Best so far is peanut butter and celery
2) if you have a dinner with beans, broccoli or any other food that causes excess abdominal gas, Beano is a great product.
3) sleeping in an elevated position is a great help. About 45 degrees.
I've just tried these suggestions for a week, but so far so good.
Thanks to all on this web site. I am learning to live with this disease and the medication. You all give so much support and great common sense information that often is not present in the minds of the docs.
