Early Christmas present

Seven weeks on imatinib and my wbc + platelets have come down to normal blood count levels!!

For my 3rd hospital appointment in 6 weeks. My bcr-abl will be checked.

So pleased to be following the forum motto: go forward and go downward!!

I wish you all a safe Christmas from covid and happy new year with dreams coming true.

So have mine but Imatinib makes me feel generally unwell most of the time

Please keep looking for ways to help you cope with your side effects.

My consultant and this forum has really helped me to try new things. From checking vitamin D levels, eating 3 brazil nuts a day, looking at gut bacterial health to daily meditation. The options in herbal supplements seems endless!

If something doesn't work for you. Keep looking and asking.

Good luck and here's to better wellbeing in 2022!!

I spent my first two years feeling extremely "unwell" on imatinib.  It worked great on the CML, but I ultimately switched to dasatinib because of the imatinib side effects of general malaise, fatigue, periorbital edema, depression.  I felt immediately 1000% better on dasatinib.  It has its problems, too, but I'm telling you this to let you know you might not have to put up with this forever - one of the other TKIs may make you feel much better.
