Side effect s

Categories:

Hi , I’ve never been on a forum before so I don’t know if I’m doing this right . Sorry . I have just been diagnosed 3 days ago . They said they have caught it very early maybe 6 / 8 months in . I was wondering if because it early stages that I won’t have side effects of the tki . Also when do the side effects start . I’ve only had nausea and diarrhoea so far for couple of hrs each day . I was suffering with tiredness and night sweats before which I put down to the menopause as 54 . I just really don’t know much .. Thankyou for reading this . Sorry I really don’t know what I’m doing

Hi there

Welcome to the family!

Three days in is very early, many blood parameters may take time to stabilise so don't count anything as normal or abnormal yet.

How are things now?

Eva

Hi Thankyou for replying .yeah I’m ok , still nauseas and been getting cramp which I have never had before ..but ok I’m thinking that’s it’s not a big deal and life will carry on as normal as I’m in the early stages and not really poorly like a lot of people are . Feel like a bit of a fraud , posting on here . Suppose I don’t really know what to think . I hope you doing well

Oh i think we've all had the fraud feeling at some point! After i was admitted to hospital and on chemo pills ,I kept thinking "why am i hear with all these sick people?"

Weird cramps are pretty normal on TKIs, 400mg of magnesium daily should sort you out (magnesium glynicate or taurate, not oxide) . Make sure you take the meds after a carb heavy meal and you may get less nausea. I found dark chocolate helped with it too.

Im almost 7 years post diagnosis and attempting Treatment Free Remission. Ive lived in 4 countries on 3 continents and traveled to many more... So it deffo not something that slowed me down.

Hi . Oh wow well done . Glad everything is going well with you . Thanks very much I will get some magnesium and try it . Thanks again take care hopefully things will continue well with you . Lorraine
