Hi,

A question to US folks,have any of you got life insurance after cml diagnosis?

I could be wrong but I don't believe you can get life insurance after diagnosis.  That may change if, God willing, TKI's start extending life into decades (Not enough time has passed).  I actually know when things went south (acquired CML) for me based on when I got life insurance.  I got life insurance in October of 2016 and blood tests all came back good, then diagnosed in August 2017.

I would be very surprised if anyone could get any type of life or long-term care insurance after diagnosis. I didn't try for life but I did ask about long-term and no-go!

I talked to an agent ,it seems there is something called term insurance,but they said they will talk to the company first,some companies give after 6 years past diagnosis and in remission,and some companies depending on stage, treatment,prognosis etc

They asked us to get doctor's note,reports etc and to submit and see,Now we feel we should have taken earlier,Will update this thread in case it helps anyone else in the same situation.
