Hello CML friends,
I had a visit with my hem-onc and we decided to go to pcr test every year instead of 6 months.
For the people interested, I was diagnosed in 2013, took 100mg Sprycel for 4 years. Then was diagnosed with major pleural effusion, had to stop the drug until my lung recovered. After 3 months, my lung was fine and my pcr did not move, still either undetected or detected but below the quantification. So, it is now 7 years that I took my last pill, and my pcr is still stable. And now I will test every year.
I hope that it will give you guys, hope that it is possible to stop the TKI for a very long time….
You are here
TFR for 7 years
Hi ,Karinne,
so your pcr either undetected or detected but below the quantification, right?
its a great news for all of us
After a year my pcr was 0.0032% which I think is basically undetected. My pcr is now done in a different lab that gives a sensitivity of 0.002%.
But let’s be real, undetected doesn’t mean not present. It just means that the level is below the sensitivity of the test.
Before I stop TKI and since then, my pcr result is either undetected or detected but below quantification.
Hope it helps. 😁
Great, thanks for asking. I'm still on low-dose Tasigna (150 mg) per day. My onc and I agree that repeat TFR is not on the table for me in the foreseeable future. but I can live with this. Literally! Take care, I love reading successful TFR posts.
