Hi,I have been taking 200mg of imatinib daily for 18 years for cml. The last few days I have felt really tired/fatigued...if this is connected to my treatment would it show up in my most recent blood test which was 2 weeks ago. Results should come through next week. I dont want to go back to hospital for tests unneccessarily. They are very busy

Extreme tiredness after years of imatinib
Hi Bill,
Just logged in for the first time in ages and saw your post….i have been on Bosulif since 2018 and started feeling major fatigue in the last few years….that being said heart issues from my tki plays a role in this I’m sure. Have you seen a cardiologist by chance? Plus as it was explained to me by my oncologist at MD Anderson, even though you have been on a drug for years….side effects can start years down the road.
Thanks for replying. I haven't seen a cardiologist ...yet. I rang the team this morning and my recent results are fine so I'm giving it a few days before I ring back for another round of blood tests. (Incase something has happened in the last 2 weeks.
I read a little about AI and I copied and pasted my post there....reply was very interesting and well structured. If not fully in depth.
Im generally pretty fit for my age. Play golf 3 times a week. Cancelled today obviously. Hope this is just something that's doing the rounds and it passes soon.
Cheers
Bill
Im out of touch with alternative drugs that have been developed. Hadn't heard if Besoluf was it?....I hopped your side effects settle. Have you tried any others ? I couldn't tolerate the standard prescribed 400mg as it caused severe bone pain etc. Long story but luckily after a break I got up to 200mg and that has worked well all this time... about 18years.. I still have some issues but nothing like before.
Are you still kayaking 😀
