Hi Kathy,

When your Doctor told you about your anaemia, did they say what your Haemoglobin (Hb) level was?
This will determine whether you need it to be investigated further.
My wife (who has cml)has a very variable Hb level, there is no real explanation for this.
She had some further investigations in order to determine whether there was a reason for the lowish HB, but the tests did not show anything. So she continues to plod on with a lowish Hb.
Sorry can't be of more help -do try to find out how low your Hb is.

Paul

paul, thank you so much for your reply,im gonna ring the doc today, thanks again, kathy

Hi Kathy: I just wrote a post recently on Anemia. I am having the same problem, and I just wrote in about my Platelets. Everything is going low on me. I have a very good Oncologist/Hemotologist, and he said he is watching my numbers. He said the anemia comes with the use of the Gleevec. I do however, get concerned.
Procrit shots used to be the alternative but now there is too much controversy over the fact that the Procrit was causing heart attacks and strokes. Hang in There and Ask Questions. If I get any more info, I will post it. Suzzie
