Clever tests
Hi Clare,
without any details it is difficult to say what the zero your doctor is referring to means. however, it does not mean that your cml has gone. unfortunately we are not at the stage where the available drugs like Glivec Sprycel or Tasigna are able to eradicate cml completely. what they are able to do is to block the majority of cells with the abnormality and stop them from reproducing themselves. however for some reason that is not yet entirely understood there are some cells that remain.... so if you stop taking Glivec (or Sprycel) those cells will become active and once again start to reproduce.
BUT.... a zero is great news and you should celebrate it :0))) maybe your doctor will explain more fully to you next time you see him. best wishes,
sandy C ;o)
