Sorry it has taken me a few days to do this but I have been away in Florence at the EBMT (european bone marrow transplant meeting)and met some very interesting people. I will be writing a report soon about the presentations I went to and also about the presentation I gave which was about how difficult it is for some patients to stick with taking oral therapy like Glivec, expecially when they suffer from bad side effects and may have this sort of treatment for life.
Some of the doctors were very sympathetic to this and had good news about the lessended side effect profile of the new generation of drugs like Sprycel and Tasigna.
I hope to be able to reproduce their slides presentation on this website. You may be interested.
