Hi James
I'm new to the group too. Diagnosed in late May - like you after routine blood screen.
I had high platelets but only moderatly raised WBC at diagnosis - which is unusual but apparently I have an unusual "break". Have been looking to see if there are any others out there who presented in a similar way in the past.
Good luck with the IM and glad to hear of the quick response. It's a relief to see that happening I know. My own experience so far is good - CHR in just under 4 weeks from start and has stayed stable since. 3 month PCR looked very good for molecular response (but need cytogenics to check so I'm being a bit cautious). I had a few side effects to start with - mainly nausea and some "GI turbulence" but they have all but gone now.
Best regards
Richard
Hi James,
I have only just joined the support group after hearing about it at the Nottingham Seminar last week. I too live near Derby. I was diagnoed a year ago and am on Imatinib. I suffer a few side effects but mostly mild and am doing well. Have acheived completeHMR and CCR and am getting my PCR result from June tomorrow - hopefully that will be good too.
I hope your journey is as successful as mine.
Best wishes
Mary
