Jerry Mayfield and Dasatinib [Sprycel].

Just as an aside to what's already been posted, but Jerry posted this, in essence as a reply about a patient worried about a transplant, in November last year:

--------------------------
"It appears to me that you need to get a second opinion from a top CML specialist. Recommending a transplant just because you are not responding well to Gleevec is not advocated by any CML specialist that I know about. I am a good example. I never responded to Gleevec and became totally resistant to it with a G250E mutation about 4 years after diagnosis. I then started Sprycel and had a Major Molecular Remission. Here I am, 11 years after diagnosis, "bright eyed and bushy tailed"...he he."

--------------------------
It took my eye after continually reading the response from N.I.C.E. that the evidence for Dasatinib and Tasigna is very weak.

For those who don't know, Jerry Mayfield is a very well respected owner of the American version of this CML site.
