Nilotinib v Bosutinib.

This week I went to the Hammersmith & saw prof Apperly, what a great lady she is. We had a in depth discussion about my reactions to the TKI'S and the way forward to manage my cml. The plan is now to stop Dasatinib, have high dose steroids for 2 weeks, restart Nilotinib at 200mg once a day supported by steroids. I have done something similar  before with no success but it is worth a go again she thinks. Any adverse skin reactions I must stop treatment. The Prof is going to ask for Bosutinib on compassionate grounds. As they have trialed it at the Hammersmith she thinks they will stand a better chance of obtaining the drug rather than my local hospital.  If Bosutinib fails me then the next course will be Interferon, not peglated to start with & if all else fails the last option will be a transplant. so, at least now there is a plan of treatment.

I wonder if there is anyone here who has had Bosutinib, I would be interested to hear of any experiences with this drug?

Many thanks.

Hi Ali

I shall keep everything crossed you get the drug - let us know how you get on

Dear Ali... I hope the steroid support plan works this time. the only people who will have had experience of bosutinib will be from within the trial setting. I will ask around and see if I can connect you to someone.

Glad you had a good consultation ;o)
