Letter Templates to send to MP's- 4 versions are now uploaded on the Home page

Please see home page for 4 versions of Letters you can send to your MP's. You can mix and match as you see fit.

I hope they are of some help. apologies that it has taken us a few days to produce them but we are working long hours and trying to get as high a profile as possible.

I suggest you also write to the Secretary of State for Health as well as Lord Howe.

If your letter is judged “political” it would probably be routed directly into the Special Advisers and in any case it is worth cc ing them anyway and sending it directly to the Special Advisers office.

In my opinion the best trajectory in this case.

If it's judged policy then it will be routed via the policy team unless it is so general that it warrants a low level “The Minister has noted your comments” response.

Addresses:

Rt Hon Andrew Lansley

Department of Health

79 Whitehall

London SW1A 2NS

Earl Howe

Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Quality

(address as above : NICE falls within his Ministerial portfolio)

DH Special Advisers: Bill Morgan and Jenny Jackson

I have uploaded the 4 separate templates as well as the link to the new petition for this current ACD for imatinb resistance.

The 'old' petition for imatinib 'intolerant' is still live and you can sign that one too... They will publish both FAD's together I think- so if one is negative the other will be too.

Just to reassure those of you who are currently being treated with high dose imatinib, nolitinib or dasatinib. YOU WILL STILL HAVE ACCESS TO THERAPY for as long as you respond. So no matter how this goes you will be kept on you current therapy. .

We now have yet another deadline to meet. NICE have asked for CML Support Group's official comment on nilotinib and dasatinib as first line therapy. Deadline is 25th May if our views are to be included in the evidence the appraisal committee uses.

For clarity: please use a new discussion thread to add any new comments regarding NICE ACD. The original thread It is getting very long now and your questions/comments might easily be overlooked.

Thanks

They are really ramping up the pressure here!
